In a year that spirals further and further with every waking day, we always have one place to seek refuge from the horrors of the world: the internet. Dialed into the digital world like never before, this year was notably dominated by famed rapper Megan Thee Stallion. Between her chart-topping hits like “Savage,” “WAP” and “Body,” it seemed as though it was impossible to escape ‘Hot Girl’ Meg anywhere you went.
Whether it was Twitter drama, TikTok bangers or covering TIME Magazine’s ‘100 Most Influential People,’ Meg was undoubtedly the girl voted ‘Most Likely To Go Viral’ in 2020. Now she has everyone doing her iconic “AH” ad lib. Let’s look back at some of her best looks of her best year yet.
“New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”
For the annual NYE countdown, Meg performed her hit songs “Savage” and “Body” in a nude mesh bodysuit with crystals studded throughout. The outfit features fuller crystalling on the lingerie she’s wearing above the bodysuit.
LA Times, December 2020 Issue
Meg returns to the archives to play alter ego Tina Snow, a character from her second EP, for this interview with the LA Times. The rapper wore an ivory netted dress and an arrangement of pearls beneath a white fur coat with a short, curly blonde hairdo.
GQ, December 2020 Issue
For the GQ ‘Man Of The Year’ cover, Meg wears a snow white Gucci fur coat paired with a necklace and matching earrings from Jacob & Co.
American Music Awards 2020
Hot Girl Meg wears a hot pink pleated asymmetrical dress by Lever Couture for the American Music Awards. She was nominated for 4 AMAs and accepted the award for ‘Best Hip-Hop/Rap Song’ in a lime green mini dress with crystal embellishments from AREA.
“Body,” Music Video
Meg serves full body in her music video for her hit song “Body” with a braided metallic gold and royal maroon Antonio Ortega puffer jacket. The floor-length coat features an A-line silhouette and oversized sleeves. She covers her chest in Baroqco jewelry and wears Femme LA heels.
“WAP,” Music Video
After a summer of stellar rap collabs, Cardi B enlisted the help of Megan Thee Stallion for her track “WAP,” which instantly became an overnight viral sensation. For the video, Meg wore a custom pastel yellow, ruched chiffon Nicolas Jebran bodysuit with a long-flowing train. The look came with a matching pair of opera gloves accented with ostrich feathers.
“Good News,” Album Cover
It had been a long time coming, but Meg finally released her debut studio album titled “Good News.” The album cover features a newspaper print backdrop to match the title of the album. For promotion, Meg did a photoshoot in a skin-tight, newspaper print catsuit and matching cowboy hat. One of the newspaper prints on the outfit is from a New York Times article about violence against Black women. The outfit showed off everything Meg has always been about — curves, Texan flavor and advocacy.
Savage X Fenty
In a very on-brand business partnership, Rihanna’s lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty, collaborated with the “Savage” rapper to create a curated list of holiday gifts. Meg has been a brand partner for a considerable amount of time, and, in a statement, the company said, “With her magnetic charm and colorful alter-egos and personas, Megan embodies the Savage X ethos of being whoever you want whenever you want.” In this #SavageXMeg campaign, Meg is wearing a black Daisy Lace Triangle bralette and matching black Brazilian panties along with the ‘String of Pearls’ cupless bralette.
TIME Magazine, ‘The 100 Most Influential People’ 2020 Issue
The ultimate crown of achievement in recognition just might be a placement on the cover of TIME Magazine’s list of the ‘100 Most Influential People.’ For the cover, she wore an asymmetrical, off-the-shoulder, hip-high slit mustard gold Monsoori gown that was royal enough for a Greek goddess. The rapper was featured for her talent, tenacious attitude and unbelievable strength.
That’s some real hot girl sh*t.
